🎥 How to Record Your Swing
Best View to Send
-
If you only send one video, send the Down-the-Line (Side View).
-
Ideally, send both Down-the-Line and Front View.
📍 Camera Positioning (Down-the-Line)
-
Camera should be straight back from your hands, not back from your target line.
-
Another way to think about it - Position your phone down your foot line instead of your target line — this ensures proper perspective.
-
Height: Your phone should be About the height your hands are from the ground when you set up to a golf shot (roughly 3 feet high).
-
Use a tripod for stability.
-
Turn your phone sideways (landscape) to capture more of the swing.
-
Position the camera far enough back to capture the entire club and swing.
-
Record in slow motion if your phone supports it.
📍 Camera Positioning (Front View)
-
Place the camera straight in front of you, directly across from your hands.
-
Position it about hand height, same as the down-the-line setup.
-
Use landscape orientation again for a wider shot.
-
Slow mo recording is recommended here too.
🎯 Pro Tip
-
You don’t need a fancy setup — even hitting foam balls in the yard works.
- Real balls and/or swings from the range or course are fine as well, of course.
- No "air swings" without a ball. You have to be hitting a ball even if it's just a foam ball.Â
-
Your video does NOT have to be perfect - Just get a clear shot from a decent angle and send it in.

Last Thing!
-
Don't stress about recording a perfect video.
- If it's so far off that it's a problem, I'll give you some feedback on camera positioning and you can send in another swing.
- No worries! Just get it done so you can get feedback and start improving fast! Â
